Random Thoughts

Life is ever fleeting. What are you doing now that is going to be important or significant later? Are you living to make a name for yourself or are you living for something bigger, something lasting? Life is a precious and fragile gift. More often than not we take it for granted.

We think the world is ending if we don't have the right clothes, the BEST technology has to offer, popularity. Here in America we get spoiled rotten. Living in our cushy air conditioned houses, most likely never missing a meal. But what about other people? Look at the bigger picture. Refocus on something other than yourself for once. There are people out there hurting and we are just to oblivious to actually see them. Living in the street, scrounging for a morsel of anything to help satisfy the grumbling in their bellies. How about babies being dumped in trash heaps or thrown in the ocean? NO THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN...It does. What are you gonna do about it?

Now, you are probably wondering, what the fishsticks is up with her? Well yesterday my Dad and two of his buddies set off for the Phillipines. Whoa, when did this happen? What is he doing going halfway around the world for? He's being apart of something bigger than himself. He's breaking the glass. How he got involved seems like an unexpected coincidence but nothing is coincidental. It started with a simple, "What are you doing in July?" and ended up snowballing into something amazing. For the next two weeks he will be part of founding an orphanage in Aklan, Phillipines. Crazy huh?

God works in strange ways. Are you willing to listen and step out in faith to do what seems impossible? To live to change the world? To make a lasting impact for the kingdom of God? If we don't reach out to help those in need who will?

That's my two cents! Peace!!!

I read this in a book. It is called Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick. If you are looking to grow more audacious in your faith in God I challenge you to read it.

"Here is another reason you've got to learn to cling to the goodness of God: sometimes he pressures of your daily stuggles can push your belief system beneath the surface. Immediate pain and struggles can color the lens through which we view all of God's past, present, and future activities in our lives. We can easily lose track of the truth. And in the emotional haze, it doesn't take long for us to start thinking that the goodness of God is a lie.
But look back at your life. Remember. No matter what you've been through or are going to go through now, God has been good to you. You're here. You're alive. You're breathing. he has let you see another day. And he has brought you to this page with a sincere desire that you will experience more of him.
He has been good to you. And when you remember that fact, it changes the way you see your challenges. David said it like this:
'Praise the Lord, O my soul'
And forget not all your benefits-
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion.' ~psalm 103:2-4 "

All About Us~He is We

Take my hand, I’ll teach you to dance.
I’ll spin you around, won’t let you fall down.
Would you let me lead, you can step on my feet.
Give it a try, it’ll be alright.

The room’s hush, hush,
And now’s our moment.
Take it in feel it all and hold it.
Eyes on you, eyes on me.
We’re doing this right.

Cause lovers dance when they’re feeling in love.
Spotlight shinning, it’s all about us.
It’s oh, oh, oh, oh, all about uh, uh, uh, uh, us.
And every heart in the room will melt,
This is a feeling I’ve never felt but,
It’s oh, oh, all about us.

Suddenly, I’m feeling brave.
Don’t know what’s got into me,
Why I feel this way.
Can we dance, real slow?
Can I hold you, real close?

The room’s hush, hush,
And now’s our moment.
Take it in feel it all and hold it.
Eyes on you, eyes on me.
We’re doing this right.

Cause lovers dance when they’re feeling in love.
Spotlight shinning, it’s all about us.
It’s oh, oh, oh, oh, all about uh, uh, uh, uh, us.
And every heart in the room will melt,
This is a feeling I’ve never felt but,
It’s oh, oh, all about us.

Do you hear that love?
They’re playing our song.
Do you think we’re ready?
Oh I’m really feeling it.
Do you hear that love?
Do you hear that love?

Do you hear that love?
They’re playing our song.
Do you think we’re ready yet?
Love I’m really feeling it.
Do you hear that love?
Do you hear that love?

Do you hear that love?
They’re playing our song.
Do you think we’re ready yet?
Love I’m really feeling it.
Do you hear that love?
Do you hear that love?

Lovers dance when they’re feeling in love.
Spotlight shinning, it’s all about us.
It’s all, all, all, all.
Every heart in the room will melt,
This is a feeling I’ve never felt, but
It’s all, all about us.

Cause lovers dance when they’re feeling in love.
Spotlight shinning, it’s all about us.
It’s oh, oh, oh, oh, all about uh, uh, uh, uh, us.
(hey-ey hey)
And every heart in the room will melt,
This is a feeling I’ve never felt but,
It’s oh, oh, all,
It’s all about us.

Maybe One day...

So I don't even know if anyone reads this blog anymore...Honestly I don't even know why it still exists. I've been so unfaithful in writing on here at least once a week so its pretty much a fail.

Anyways, I've always loved writing though I never was very talented at it. I have kept a journal from time to time and usually it takes over a year or two just to complete one. Going back and rereading the entries from my past I have to admit is quite boring. I was pretty much a lousy story teller. I have friends that write in journals religiously, not like its their god or anything but they do have dedication. I suppose that was something I always lacked. I never had a drive to write like that, even if I really enjoyed it. Sometimes its good to be able to express your emotions in that way. Uncensored, full of raw emotion. Pouring your heart out hoping someone one day may care about it. Although, if I were to be truthful, I would never in a million years want anyone to read one of those journals. Perhaps one day I'll get rid of them instead of wasting space in my closet. Maybe I'll have the power to let go of the past and move on to the future....maybe one day...
